in difference is a piece for five or more harmoniums composed for James Orsher's harmonium ensemble. The score consists of a possibility tree of all ways of moving from one set of five pitches to another set of five pitches and back again. Each performer chooses five of the 240 paths back and forth between the pitch sets. The piece concludes when all peformers have completed their journey.
