QuickTime :|: 27 sec :|: 1 MBThomas Alva Edison did not invent the light bulb. He did however, improve its design and make a profound discovery while creating the bulb, The Edison Effect. The discovery of The Edison Effect made possible the vast world of electronics and wireless technology we use today. Edison's discovery lead directly to the creation of the Fleming valve which, in turn, inspired DeForest's Audion tube. This final step launched radio and recording technologies and eventually became the basis for the transistor.
In an attempt to bring this lineage full circle I have created a series of pieces which utilize the light bulb as an audio transduction device, a speaker. This first set of pieces tonguesten and audio ebb was presented:
