twining is an interactive sound sculpture/instrument created for Lewis Keller and Cat Lamb on the occasion of their wedding. Enclosed inside the poplar body is a simple oscillator circuit. It uses the resistance of the players' skin to control the pitch of the instrument.
twining is played by two people. Each player places their thumb on one of the pennies embedded in the surface of the wood. As the players touch one another the resulting sound changes.
The instrument is meant as an intimate experience between the players. As such I haven't heard a performance; but I have heard good comments from Lewis and Cat.
