the hedgehog is a handbuilt electronic musical instrument. It consists of eighteen toggle switches that trigger various timbres. The timbres are created by eighteen individual square wave oscillators. Phasing between these oscillators creates new timbral variations.The sound can also be changed using the two toggle switches and button on the lower hemisphere of the instrument.
Each toggle switch has a momentary and static direction. This allows for rhythmic or sustained playing.
The power jack and amplified audio output are located on the back of the instrument. The audio output can power a pair of headphones or a small speaker with no external amplification.
